During Javier Milei's government, nearly 22,000 fewer companies have been registered, with a strong impact on the construction sector, according to data from the Superintendence of Labor Risks.
The net closure of companies in the last month of November was 892. And it accumulates in those 11 months of 2025 a net loss of 9,722 employers.
Compared to November 2023, the labor risk system had 512,357 employers and 9,857,173 workers. In November 2025, the system recorded 490,419 companies and 9,566,571 workers.
Consequently, in those 24 months, there was a net drop of 21,938 employers (between openings and closings). And the total number of workers or employees decreased by 290,602.
With 512,357 at the end of 2023, there was a drop in the number of companies until mid-2024 as a result of the devaluation and the 'chainsaw' that especially affected construction.
Later there was a slowdown in the decline. By December 2024, the number reached 499,682.
A conclusion from the Work Report is that a relevant proportion of firms that enter the market do not manage to overcome a short life cycle.
